Here’s original shot #1 (the only thing removed before this photo was the soffit along the ceiling). In the next few photos, you’ll see the progression to our current state.

The other night at dinner, a topic of conversation was my husband’s drink of choice, coca-cola. He was asked by our eldest why he drank it if it wasn’t good for him. My husband, in response, asked him why he drank chocolate milk.
Our eldest thought for a moment. He replied, “I think Jesus made me to like chocolate stuff.”
Our youngest then chimed in, “Jesus made me to laugh!”
My husband and I couldn’t argue with either one!
I’ll be posting again on Tuesday. Have a great Memorial Day weekend!

…makes perfect or at least better!
The first coach pitch game was three weeks ago Saturday. It was a raining and a little miserable (maybe more so for those watching!).
My eldest struck out both times up at bat. He was so upset!

So, after I wrote yesterday’s post, I was almost immediately given two more opportunities to practice living in the moment and enjoying time with my boys (doesn’t it often happen that way?!).
Opportunity #1 – my first grader woke up sad, saying that he thinks about me during the school day, misses me a lot, and wants to come home to be with me. Was he trying to get out of going to school? Absolutely. But…the day was perfect for it – no one to pick up (from his class) in the morning, no one to take home after school…and our electricity was scheduled to be off from 9-3 (translated – no television or computer). We dropped his younger brother off at school, got a coffee and a hot chocolate, and then went home. We played games (UNO being a favorite!) and enjoyed uninterrupted time together – I loved it.

making the most of it. Often, to me, this means multi-tasking and with 10 minutes here, half an hour there, cutting down the to-do lists (I don’t know how I generate them, but they seem to multiply in my possession!).
So while all this coach-pitch is happening, my youngest and I have…time.
Sometimes this time is spent in the car (several cold and windy days!);
other days the time is spent outside.
