VBS 2008

Since summer vacation has officially ended, my boys and I were talking last night about things we enjoyed this summer.
Both boys loved Vacation Bible School this year! I realized as they were talking that I never posted about VBS.
The theme was Son Harvest County Fair; many kids came wearing overalls, bandannas, cowboy hats, boots, etc.
A favorite part of each day was contributing to the Heifer Project.
Kids even brought their piggy banks to help contribute, and by the end of the week, they had given a little over $500.00, enough to buy a heifer! “The idea behind Heifer … is similar to the notion that it’s better to teach a man to fish so he can feed himself than to give him a fish that will feed him just once. One animal could eventually benefit an entire community” (Associated Press, off the Heifer Project website).
We were all pretty excited – smiles all around!
