Sweetness

I had so much fun at yesterday’s session. I loved meeting this sweet little one. It was great to see her parents again too.
Can’t wait to share more.

Had a very busy, but good past few days with a fun senior session on Saturday.
The photography gene

Well it’s not a gene, but I’ve still passed it on.
Up until recently I have not thought much about encouraging my boys to take pictures. I haven’t bought them cameras. I guess I thought they’ve had enough time in front of the camera.
Both my boys, especially my youngest, have loved taking pictures recently.
Priorities, changes, and life

My weekend was good. How was yours?
At this point in my life, hotel stays are something I look forward to. A hotel often translates to a little break from my every day and refreshment alone or fun with friends. I even enjoy the pillows (and the chocolate-chip cookies).
The conference was fabulous. Learning and reflecting is always good. I’ve been continuing to run at break-neck speed, thinking that I only have 2 more months until school’s out and schedules change. My weekend reflections made me realize that I don’t need to (and probably can’t) wait until June to make some changes.
I love to take photos. I love to write. A blog is tons of fun…until my perfectionist nature kicks in and I can’t take a week-day off. So, here’s my “better-than-surviving” blog plan – I will still blog but most likely will do so randomly. Yes, this will be difficult for me…if I post 5 times a week, please call me out! For those of you who check and read my blog every week-day – thank you! I am hoping this change will be temporary.
Have a fabulous Monday and an equally fabulous week!
How-to

My eldest had another book report due recently…this time the focus was on a how-to book of his choice.
After much deliberation (and with endless choices such as How to Be A Pirate, How to Draw Scooby Doo, and How to Build A Time Machine), he chose How to Build A Rocket.
I very quickly shirked my responsibility on this one and asked my husband if he’d help.
My son was very excited to get started.
A friend

There are times when I need a friend who won’t accept my “I’m fine.”
Yesterday was one of those times. We were scheduled to meet over coffee at 9:30. The last time we meant, she knew I was not fine. She questioned me. I tried my best to avoid spilling too much. I think I was fairly successful, but knew I wouldn’t be the second time around.
She knows I love her. I think she’ll smile when she reads that I wanted to reschedule yesterday morning.
There’s a proverb that reads A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.
It’s often effortless and easy for me to be a friend when things are going well – when the sun is shining, when I have my stuff “together” and a friend has her stuff “together.” But that really is only a small part of true friendship, isn’t it? Most of it is spent in the trenches, interceding for one another, and sometimes just being there when stuff is really messy.
I’m glad I didn’t reschedule.
