We hiked through temperate rain forest
and some cool (well, actually hot! since there was little shade) open spaces.
We were so excited to finally get to the beach! I was hoping for some ocean breezes, but alas, no such luck.
So…we explored, got in the water, and then were content to rest in the shade before we continued.
The last 2 miles were a little arduous with my eldest asking me several times to carry him. I asked him if he would carry me!
To pass the time while we hiked (and to stem the seemingly incessant ”how much longer?” line of questioning), my eldest and I talked about the day he was born, what he was like when he was 6 months old, a year, two years, etc. This fun little conversation was just what the doctor ordered, for both of us!
