Memories

This is the house I stayed in while back east. It is the house my great-grandfather built for my great-grandmother.
It is one of 2 houses that I spent time in when I visited throughout the years.
I’ve always loved these back stairs. I have memories of heading down in the morning to have breakfast with cousins. I loved granny’s blueberry pancakes too!
On my most recent trip, my dad was the one who greeted me from the kitchen each morning when I made my way down those back stairs.
He usually came down at 10, made coffee, and I often appeared around 11. Don’t hate (I was simply trying to stay on west coast time).
This is the window in my grandmother’s sitting room. She loved plants, and they thrived under her care. Sometime last year, I wrote a blog draft about my grandmothers and their green thumbs; maybe I’ll be able to find those old photos I’ve been looking for.
I’ve always loved the attic.
Lots of history…love perusing my great-grandfather’s diaries.
Hoping it’s not too long before I visit again.

Oh Pooh what fabulous pictures of the old house. That house reminds me of the old house we use to live in on No 30th, it wasn’t as grand but similar in little ways. It had the towers and big porch, and even the skinny stairway. I have got to find pictures of that house. Better yet when I am feeling better we will take a ride down to the old house (across from the elephant man’s house) and have a peek and lunch!
