I am enjoying my class homework!  I think because it requires something different from me.

Often my photography subjects are running around and with me – playing chase, blowing bubbles, or showing off a fabulous new Lego creation, orange tu-tu, or favorite book.  Sometimes my subjects are quietly sleeping or simply snuggling with mom and dad.

Rarely do I have to search for subjects to photograph.

And now, not only do I need to search, I need to slow down.

How fun it’s been to spend time meandering around my yard…training my eyes to again see detail and pattern in nature.

I spent a bit of time around this little holly plant.  Maybe if I were a true gardener, I would have pulled it and tossed it in the big blue bin long ago.  It’s very small, thin, and doesn’t look well when compared to its larger counterparts nearby; but I had no lack of details, patterns, and beauty in my many frames focused solely on it.
