I so enjoyed meeting and photographing this couple (and their family).  I selfishly wished for a little more time…time to simply sit on this bench and hear a bit of their story.

I love hearing stories.  I miss the stories told by my grandparents and my husband’s grandparents.  I visited a friend’s farm recently (I’ll blog a few photos soon) and was telling my dad about our visit.  He told me stories about two farms that his grandmother’s siblings owned.  The farms were located maybe 20 minutes from where I live now.  My dad said when he was young his family would go out to the farms for Sunday dinners.  Dad remembers the big draft horses that helped plow the fields.  He also remembers spending lots of time jumping in the hay.

:-)

I’m thankful for the time I’ve spent with older generations.  I know the family of this couple counts themselves blessed as well.

A picture tells a thousand words. These simple moments provide me with a warmth of the heart. I love asking my elderly patients how long they have been married. I’m always amazed and inspired by there responses. You can learn a lot from their stories.
