Some why questions are easier to answer.
Why is the grass green? Why does my voice sound funny when I have a cold? Why do I have a cold?! Why isn’t Star Wars real? Why is Hawaii water warm? Why can’t I have a snowy owl as a pet? Why do I have to go to school? Why do I have to clean my room? Why does bread get moldy? Why do you take pictures all the time? Why do I have to brush my teeth? Why can’t I climb back up on the roof?
Some why questions are difficult to answer.
Why do I have dyslexia?
I’m so thankful for my 5th grader and his perseverance in school. Praying for him today.

Tuesday is the one day every week with no after-school activities (love these days!). No after-school activities = more time (in everything except the car). My boys and I have started “Treat Tuesdays” and yes homework is completed during this time, but the pace is much more relaxed…we talk, we work, and we enjoy a treat or two…together.

My boys and I have enjoyed this whole week without school! Even the loss of power was “fun” according to my boys (they slept in front of the fire all night).
Happy Friday! Hope your weekend is great!

Last week, Devon and the boys found a crow hunkered down in one of our raised garden beds. The crow didn’t fly away when they came close so Devon put it into a box and put the box on our back porch. We could then watch the crow (and keep any predators away).

Happy New Year!
I hope your Christmas was wonderful!
My boys are back to school today. They were a little wistful last night and wanted to look at photos from our December together. Here are a few from our trip north.
