5 days off from the regular routine sounds so good, and it is!
My boys didn’t have school on Friday and they don’t have school today or tomorrow due to conferences. We’ve been relaxing, sleeping, reading, making more cookies, going on walks, playing, watching movies, etc. - so nice!
My boys are such opposites in some areas (food preferences for example). We went out for lunch yesterday and my eldest

Happy March 1st! Hope your last weekend of February was a good one!
I’m finishing up my classwork…had an all-day class on Saturday and I’ll take a test this week. It’s been fun to have some “thinking exercises” (i.e. homework), but I’ll be glad to have a few less things to do.
Yesterday was a really nice day…nothing on the calendar. My boys and I read together, relaxed, made (and ate) chocolate chip cookies. We did the usual things too, like laundry and dishes, but we did them together and there was no grumbling and complaining (not by me either!).
Have a great week!

I went on a field trip with my youngest son yesterday.
I had planned on being somewhere else, but finally (sometimes flexibility is hard to come by!) embraced the opportunity.
I love that my youngest, too, is embracing opportunities…opportunities to try new things, to do his best, to work hard, to learn, to discover, to dream.

I’m so thankful for this growing-bigger-everyday little boy!
Hope your Thursday is great (especially if it requires some flexibility!).

Eleven years ago, while visiting friends in Oregon, we happened upon a mall pet store. My friend mentioned there had been a scottie puppy for sale; we went in for a look (not heeding the mall pet store reputation). The puppy was no longer there. We were about to exit when I asked the clerk if they would be getting more scotties. She said they had just received one; would I like to see it?
He weighed 4 pounds, had a large pot belly (worms, we found out later), and, being a puppy, was indescribably cute. I’m not sure why we gave ourselves a day to “think” it over…we could have saved a trip to the mall.
Here are two photos I found of Angus when we first brought him home.
