Everyday Life, Surprises | Leave a Response
Tuesday afternoons usually produce a few hours of uninterrupted work. I look forward to this time every week – I’m at home, at my desk, enjoying a quiet house. And I do get lots of work done.

So my husband casually mentioned to me that he had arranged for babysitting for us to go out last night. He said he thought it would be nice since I’d been gone all week. He said he’d made reservations at The Melting Pot. Never one to pass up fondue, I was looking forward to an evening out.
On our way to dinner, my husband commented that he wanted this to be a little birthday celebration just the two of us (we celebrated August birthdays with my family last weekend). When we arrived, there were lots of people waiting to be seated. My husband suggested that we walk around to the bar, so we did; and there sat my nephew and his wife. It is always so good to see them and I was surprised.
We had a great meal and great conversation.
It was then suggested that we go upstairs, and to be honest, I truly did not think much of it. We walked upstairs and were greeted by a room full of friends! It was so good to see everyone! The drinks flowed, the chocolate was devoured, and the laughter (my favorite part!) filled the room.

A special thanks to my husband for planning such a fun evening and to my friends who helped me celebrate!

How fun to get a little snow today!
A quick look outside,
a “quick” change into snow clothes and out he goes!

A great way to kick-off spring break!
