Yesterday afternoon I walked through the kitchen, headed toward the office, when I looked outside.

The snow fall had increased.  I walked to the office and instead of sitting at the computer I grabbed my camera.

It didn’t take long before the snow was accumulating.

Snow on the trampoline is always fun (my boys thoroughly enjoyed it when they came home!).

I’ll get some work done today. 

More of Hannah and Zoe coming tomorrow.

This past month has been difficult for me as a mom. My eldest has had a bit of a rocky start in second grade. Afternoons and evenings with homework have been exhausting.

I don’t know who it is from, but the little note was like salve to my soul…words I desperately needed to hear, again! Thank you!

Have you received encouragement just when you needed it? This afternoon was a great reminder to me of how important encouragement is, and how something simple can make a huge impact and bless another.

On our way to dinner, my husband commented that he wanted this to be a little birthday celebration just the two of us (we celebrated August birthdays with my family last weekend). When we arrived, there were lots of people waiting to be seated. My husband suggested that we walk around to the bar, so we did; and there sat my nephew and his wife. It is always so good to see them and I was surprised.

We had a great meal and great conversation.

It was then suggested that we go upstairs, and to be honest, I truly did not think much of it. We walked upstairs and were greeted by a room full of friends! It was so good to see everyone! The drinks flowed, the chocolate was devoured, and the laughter (my favorite part!) filled the room.
