A wedding

February 8th, 2011  |  Published in Everyday Life, Travel  |  1 Comment

My younger nephew is getting married!  Congratulations Pete and Hege!

I’m so excited to attend their wedding this coming weekend…

in NORWAY!

:-)

I’ll be boarding a plane this afternoon, enjoying a brief lay-over in ICELAND, and landing in Oslo tomorrow afternoon.

I do not think I will be blogging (I really won’t know until I get there).  I will be returning all emails and phone calls upon my return… so look for me in a week!

Travel days

Travel days are definitely unusual days.  There’s excitement but also a little (or a lot) of stress, maybe some boredom, and usually lots of how much longer?  The day of travel to a vacation destination definitely tops the day of travel home.  The last day of vacation involves packing, cleaning, rental car return, and long lines without the expectation and excitement.

On the day of our return trip I found my youngest away from the hustle and bustle.

It’s times like these that I’d like to be a mind-reader.

Hello

January 17th, 2011  |  Published in Everyday Life, Travel  |  1 Comment

A happy new year hello to you!  I hope your holidays were wonderful!

I’m still assimilating into the new year…I think my blogs this week will probably highlight my time away and I’ll blog current projects next week.

These are my favorite vacation-in-Hawaii treat.  Yes, I love royal creems and mango, but these are by far the best.

They are available all year, but for the Christmas season they get special packaging and a special name (merry christmas in Hawaiian is mele kalikimaka).

I did discover coconut and chocolate-covered macadamia nuts on this trip; they are pretty amazing as well (yes, I indulged my sweet tooth a lot this time around!).

Have a great Monday!

Vacation

December 17th, 2010  |  Published in Everyday Life, Travel  |  Leave a Response

I’ll be leaving with family soon for a vacation over the holidays.   Together we’ll celebrate Christmas, New Year’s, and my eldest’s 10th birthday.

While away with family, I will be unable to return emails or place orders, but will do so promptly on my return.

I will also not be blogging for 1 month (look for me to return on January 17th).  As always, thank you for looking, reading, and commenting.

:-)

Merry Christmas!  Happy New Year!
