A power shut-eye while coloring.

This sweet birthday girl was having so much fun celebrating “2.”

Celebrating such a big day (not to mention hamming-it-up for the camera) can be quite tiring.

I think she had a good nap later.

:-)

Have a great weekend!

Science Center

March 2nd, 2012  |  Published in Everyday Life  |  2 Comments  |  2 Comments

A week ago today both of my boys had a field trip to the science center…an overnight field trip.

This was not a field trip that I was overly quick to sign-up for as I enjoy sleeping in comfort (pjs and a bed versus jeans and the floor) and I enjoy getting sleep.  Needless to say, since my youngest was not going to stay the night without me, I signed my name on the driver/chaperone list.

How sad is it that after 9:30pm that night I was checking the time constantly…could I make it awake another few hours?!  Bedtime was scheduled for midnight, but it was Friday night and the week had been long and the upcoming weekend was going to be longer (excuses, excuses, I know!).

The center has lots of activities that explore many different areas of science, from tidal life to space travel.  After exploring the exhibits and before bedtime, a brief “dance” was in the schedule and I did get quite a laugh out of that (I’m saving the brief video clip of my 3rd grader’s dance moves and will replay it for him at some opportune moment in the future).

Obviously I survived the night (should have bought the t-shirt to prove it!).  And while I am glad I was there to be part of the experience for my boys, I am very happy to be sleeping at home tonight.  :-)
